Classification and Division are tools that allow us to break up ideas and put them into their own sections in order to make more sense of a topic. Classification gives something a name or almost puts it in a category of purpose. Division breaks up the idea and puts it into a category of it's own nature. So classification and division really just take things from the article and put them in sub categories to lay things out in order to ensure the reader knows what they are actually doing. It almost gives the paper a scaffolding or ladder because you have the main part and it just expands with definitions out from that certain definition.

For content, you could give examples of how authors have used classification and division in different areas of writing.
ReplyDeleteFor structure, finish the last sentence as a summary of what you just stated. Switch the second to last sentence with the last sentence.
