Compare and contrast helps to show how things are similar and different within the same article. In this you can do the compare and contrast in a point by point or subject by subject. This means that you can break it up and find the things in it that are alike like the main point while there may be small differences. The reader is able to look at the overall view while making inferences about how the article is subtly difference. There are many different ways you can look at compare and contrast in a variety of different forms.
In the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" videos that we watched there were many similarities and differences. The overall theme of the video was the same, but there were small changes in them. Tempo, sound, and the form of singing was different in general on these two videos. Also, the art was done by professionals in one video and the other was done by grade school children. It doesn't matter what it is, you can almost always find a way to compare and contrast. It is important to put these examples in categories in able to have a better understanding of what is going on.
