The writing process requires a triangle effect where an author writes a work, typically something like an essay. Once the essay has been written, it is given to the specific audience which the author has intentionally looked for. These readers then go over the essay and give their feedback to the author, and the author will revise his or her essay based on the feedback that they receive. A lot of times the author will bring in someone who has no biased towards what they have to say, to point out what they got from the paper. This is called an outsider and they just help to show what the common person will get out of the work. This can all happen a couple of times, because the author will need to review and revise their work a couple of times before it is finally ready to be read by everyone.

In writing an essay there has to be a certain way to do so.
It is important for the author to make sure that the audience can understand
what is going on within the article, to make sure that they retain and
understand the information. The author writes a work, which usually has to do
with something that is relevant to the general public. After the author has
written an essay, it will be read by a specific audience. Once the essay has
been read it may be sent back to be revised several times, so that it an be as
close to competent as possible. The author will usually write the essay in
several parts starting with the body. Once the body has been written it is onto
the conclusion, or the last part of the essay, which ties everything together.
Lastly, an introduction is created in order to state the authors claim and give
a brief overview of what is to be talked about.

It is important to make sure that you pick an audience that is educated in the subject that you are talking about. If you don't teach the audience or they don't already know what the author is saying, interest will be lost when the paper is being read. Also, explaining things in full detail and giving examples helps the audience almost "put a face to a name," or make sure they understand something clearly. Definitions are helpful in the fact that you may know a word, but many people may not, so just throw the definition in their so the reader won't become lost or confused. It is just important to be clear and concise with your reader, give them detail, definitions, and examples but don't go so in depth that it confuses them. Typically the bare minimum will allow the reader to understand a concept, as well as making them want to go more in depth to the paper looking for further evidence that the author may talk about.

An introduction can be one of the most important parts of an essay for an author to use. An introduction states what the author is trying to tell the reader. In an introduction, the reader will find what they need to be looking for during the reading that they will be doing. The introduction needs to have a thesis, which clearly states what the authors point is, and how they feel about the topic they are presenting. In the introduction it can also talk about the rhetorical tools which will be used, in order for the reader to understand the main topics being presented. The author may also justify their arguments and why they are important in this introduction. If used properly, the introduction can make or break an article because it can grab a readers attention or lose it completely.

Classification and Division are tools that allow us to break up ideas and put them into their own sections in order to make more sense of a topic. Classification gives something a name or almost puts it in a category of purpose. Division breaks up the idea and puts it into a category of it's own nature. So classification and division really just take things from the article and put them in sub categories to lay things out in order to ensure the reader knows what they are actually doing. It almost gives the paper a scaffolding or ladder because you have the main part and it just expands with definitions out from that certain definition.

"The viability of football at the high school level remains unquestioned in most communities in the United States." This means that we don't really know how football is going to be used in high schools, because everyone has a different opinion on the game. The sport may or may not be taken away for safety issues. "The football deaths this year have involved a range of positions." The author means that it is not just the quarter back or wide receivers getting hurt, but anyone that is on the field. People may think that the special skills players are sustaining the injuries, when in fact any single player can be subject to injury. The author talks about "declining youth participation," which can be the result of parental influence or mainly the child not wanting to get hurt. Either way, there are less and less children playing the game of football, in part because risk of injury.

When an author writes an article they use items that help the reader understand their point. These definitions include exemplification, descriptions, process, and classification and division. Exemplification tells what something does or what it is meant for. Descriptions are verbal or visual and show what everything is about. Process helps people to know what is being done. Classification and division give priority and order to the items that the author is talking about.
In the article "As Worries Rise and Players Flee, a Missouri School Board Cuts Football" it is talking about how football may be to violent for kids to play. With the number rising in concussions and death in football related injuries, people are getting scared. Parents, youth, and administrators worry about the life long effects caused by football. With schools cutting out football, this takes away jobs for teachers, coaches, and refs as well as money that just funds the school in general. Thinking about it if you take high school football out of the mix, who goes on to play college football, or even professional. This economic gaze is very economic because it is like a chain reaction, that needs to be evaluated and confronted to keep people safe and with jobs.

In writing certain essays it is important to use the right language and terms. In our essay right now it is especially important to use subject specific rhetorical terms. Terms like this help the reader know what to focus on and what to expect from the paper that they are going to be reading. A reader can't just know everything, you kind of have to guide them along. Rhetorical terms allow for a smooth passage through the essay, and make the article more interesting to read as well as providing facts for the audience to take in.
Openness: a way to allow people to look at an image or text and have a wide variety of ideas to go through.
Verbal Anchoring: no text, a hint, or an explication of the metaphor, employs similarity more than connection
Eye Tracking: someones eye patterns mainly look behind and around the "focus" of attention, so these can be tracked to get people noticing certain items even when they're in the background
Implicit advertising text: a way that subtly gets people to recognize a product, while just making you thinking about it in the back of your mind
Explicit advertising text: form of advertisement that just comes out and says what the author or person has to offer, and what you can expect from them

I decided to compare and contrast my blog 3B with Celeste Calderwood, on peer editing another students paper. We both like the idea of a peer edit because it can help to get a different perspective, which may not have been seen before. She however said peer editing is one of her favorite things to do, whereas it is not mine. We also think it just helps to steer the author in the right direction and make the paper flow better, and make more sense. Our opinions were actually quite similar, there was not much variation between our two blogs, because we both held the same stand point on the topic.

Compare and contrast helps to show how things are similar and different within the same article. In this you can do the compare and contrast in a point by point or subject by subject. This means that you can break it up and find the things in it that are alike like the main point while there may be small differences. The reader is able to look at the overall view while making inferences about how the article is subtly difference. There are many different ways you can look at compare and contrast in a variety of different forms.
In the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" videos that we watched there were many similarities and differences. The overall theme of the video was the same, but there were small changes in them. Tempo, sound, and the form of singing was different in general on these two videos. Also, the art was done by professionals in one video and the other was done by grade school children. It doesn't matter what it is, you can almost always find a way to compare and contrast. It is important to put these examples in categories in able to have a better understanding of what is going on.

A rhetorical gaze uses many things to get the audience members attention. Visualization shows things that words can't describe, because everyone has a different imagination. First you describe, explain, and look at the elements. To describe you give meaning to something and show what is truly behind it. Elements can be related to one another to show the connection between the two differences. This can be shown through an example such as a book. A book is a story or information compiled together and bound. Within the book there are examples and stories for the reader to analyze and gain more knowledge. The elements are the same in things like magazines and articles, they are like a book without all of the wording. This is an image that can help the reader to understand what rhetorical gazes mean.

Cause and effect are very important to helping the reader understand events in a logical order. Cause, is what made something happen, it is the first domino basically. The effect is what became of the event because of that cause. It goes in a domino effect from one cause to the next effect. This actually allows the reader to predict what a future outcome may be. Every article has some cause or effect, it can be very small or hidden, or it can be a major part to the story.
Cause and effect are like a timeline to a story. You can trace events backwards and forwards and see what they all lead too. In fact, some causes actually go back to become an effect in the major scheme of the story. It is interesting how one subject can totally effect another and it just keeps going. Authors use this in telling stories because the reader can break it down and have it make more sense to them, and really get the big picture. Cause and effect may be one of the biggest tools used in writing and reading an article or essay.

I love the idea of doing a peer review on a paper. A peer review just means that your fellow students read your paper, and give their advice on what to do to make it better. It is not critical or harsh, it is just suggestions on things that you most likely missed. It gives the writer confidence in the things they've done right and gently steers them to make adjustments. I believe this is an important part of writing because, there is always an error that the author is going to miss, a peer review allows that error to be acknowledged. In my opinion, a peer review is a tool that should be used on every piece of writing that is being written.

In the Zambreno article talking about King Arthur, many rhetorical tools are used throughout the piece. These rhetorical tools give meaning and bring a life to the essay that would not be prevalent if they weren't used. Zambreno uses rhetorical tools such as simile, comparing one object to another showing the reader what something is like. Description is a big key in the essay because it shows things such as how many books have been created using King Arthur, the description gives substance. When the author wants to show importance in a certain area amplification is used, usually repeating a word or phrase and give special attention to what the author feels is important.
Along with these I happened to notice that Zambreno used analogies several times throughout her essay. An analogy just compares a couple different things that have similar characteristics or traits, almost like a simile. Compare and contrast show what the author thinks are similar in topic as well as showing what is different as well. A very important tool that Zambreno uses is what is called a thesis, and a thesis is a sentence the author uses to make a claim of what is learned in the essay. The author does this to show their opinion, and to give you an idea of what the audience should be looking for while reading.

For my paper I will use many of the rhetorical elements typically found within a narrative article. I will use examples and definition to make sure that I make myself as clear as I can. Some more necessary things will include characters, setting, and dialogue. These will bring the paper more substance and depth that are hard to get from anything else. It will also help to give my story a voice or tone that draws in a certain crowd that can relate to what I'm saying.
Within my paper I will have to have structural elements to give the story a body. A very important part of this will be a thesis statement which talks about what I want to discuss in my paper. Something to go along with that thesis statement is an introduction that will grab the reader and make them want. Evidence with supporting details will keep the reader engaged and give them insight about what they need to get from the paper. Along with these a conclusion will wrap up and recap what I have already talked about. These with other structural elements will help to make the paper easy for the reader to comprehend as well as making them want to read more.

A narration is story telling, with a series of events going in a logical orderly fashion. Narratives have events that go in a way that takes you from event to event. A narrative also makes it so that people can tell a story with their own experience, that people can relate too. There are many parts to a narrative story such as characters, setting, plot, and theme which make the story come to life and seem relatable. Narratives are important because it is a first hand account of what actually happened, in fact this is what historians use to find out information from the past, because people were actually there and experienced it.
In most cases rhetorical tools are used to reach a desired audience as well. This means that the publisher or author will write and advertise something that is intended for a certain audience. Then they will make their piece of work stand out and appeal to that group, it's all about what people want to hear. They will find out what they know and then build on that and teach them and give examples that will relate to the audience in an appealing way. Rhetorical tools are just used to help the author find his niche and use it to the best of their abilities.

In writing an essay there is a basic structure of how to put everything together. First you have the rhetor which is an artist or author who writes the speech/advertisement, just someone who creates the work. The work can be anything like a picture, letter, or ad created to have meaning for an audience. The audience then interprets the work and takes in what they get from it, and takes it back to the author who revises the work to get his point across if not completed the first time. It is always smart to have an outsider perspective, with typically no bias. They will analyze the information looking at the past, present, and future. In the essay you have to have a purpose, which is essentially the main idea of what you're talking about, and the author's job is to get the peoples attention and educate. The author also must find the audience that connects most with their work and reaches out to them. The author must find and occasion to write the essay. Along with this the author must have a knowledge of the topic, as well as make sure the audience knows what is going on, and is understanding the point. This is the writing process and structure in which an author must follow to create a good essay.
